After much anticipation, Vivo has officially launched a brand new smartphone called the Nex S at an event held in China. The Nex S is the company’s first phone to debut under the new Nex Series. It is a premium flagship phone that features an in-display fingerprint scanner, Snapdragon 845 SoC, and pop-up selfie camera.
First off, talking about the design, the phone looks absolutely stunning with a glass and metal build. It additionally accompanies the new holographic illusion technology that influences the rear panel to reflect distinctive hues when the light hits it. The phone has a 6.59-inch Full-HD+ Super AMOLED ULTRA FullView display with a screen resolution of 1080×2316 pixels and 19.3:9 aspect ratio. It bears an incredible 91.24 % screen-to-body ratio, making it one of the best bezel-less phones on the market.
As for the specs, the phone is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC, coupled with Adreno 630 GPU, 8GB RAM, and 128/256GB internal storage. Under the hood of the Vivo Nex S, it houses a huge 4,000mAh battery with 22.5W fast charging. On the software side, it runs on the latest Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box with Funtouch OS 4.0 on top. The phone is equipped with in-house Jovi AI assistant and also has a dedicated button for it. As for the security, it sports an in-display fingerprint sensor. In terms of connectivity, the smartphone offers Dual 4G VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, Dual SIM, USB 2.0 port, and 3.5mm headphone jack.
Coming to the camera, the Vivo Nex S is packed with a dual rear camera setup, which combines a 12MP Sony IMX363 primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture and 4-axis OIS plus a secondary 5-megapixel sensor. There is an 8-megapixel pop-up selfie camera withf/2.0 aperture. It’s probably one of the key highlights of the Vivo NEX S. The camera features include AI Portrait Mode, Beauty Mode, Scene Detection, AR Stickers and Slow Motion.

Pricing and Availability
Talking about the pricing of the Vivo NEX S, it is priced at 4498 Yuan(roughly Rs 76,000) for 128GB variant while the higher model with 256GB storage costs 4998 Yuan(roughly Rs 85,000). The smartphone will be available in the offline store, starting June 23. No official word on the global launch yet.
