After unveiling the OPPO R15 in China last week, Chinese manufacturer OPPO has today launched yet another smartphone dubbed as OPPO A1 in its home market. The OPPO A1 is a decent budget offering that comes boasting an advanced face recognition technology which captures 128 unique facial features to make face recognition more accurate. It costs 1499 Yuan(roughly Rs.24,500) and is set to go on sale in China starting April 1st.
The Oppo A1 comes with a metal unibody design and bears a 5.7-inch HD IPS LCD display with a resolution of 720 x 1440 pixels. It also sports an aspect ratio of 18:9 with 2.5D curved glass laid on top of it. Underneath, it is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P23 processor coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage that can be further expanded via a microSD card. The phone is backed up by a 3180mAh non-removable battery and runs on Android 7.1 Nougat with ColorsOS 3.2 on top. In terms of security, it comes with facial recognition feature but lacks a fingerprint scanner.
Coming to the camera, the Oppo A1 packs a 13-megapixel sensor at the back with LED Flash. On the front, there’s an 8-megapixel camera for selfies and video calling. As for the connectivity features, it offers 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n), Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and dual-SIM support. The OPPO a1 will be available in Blue, White, and Red colors.
