Mi Nepal has recently announced the much-awaited Redmi 8 Series smartphones in Nepal, the Redmi 8 and Redmi 8A. Both the Redmi 8 and Redmi 8A are entry-level smartphones from the company that comes with selfie notch, massive 5,000 battery with 18W fast charging and decent camera. The Redmi 8 is now available for Rs 14,999 for 4GB/64GB whereas the Redmi 8A costs Rs 12,999 for 3GB/32GB storage variant.

Talking about the Redmi 8, it features a 6.22-inch HD+ IPS LCD waterdrop notch display with a resolution of 1520 x 720 pixels and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on top. Inside, there is Snapdragon 439 SOC powering the Redmi 8. The phone includes 4GB LPDDR3 RAM and 64GB eMMC v5.1 internal storage which can be expanded up to 512GB. The then runs on MIUI 10 based on Android 9 Pie and houses a massive 5,000mAh battery which supports 18W Fast Charging. The Redmi 8 also includes a fingerprint scanner on the back of the phone.

 

As for the cameras, it sports a dual rear camera setup consisting of a 12-megapixel Sony IMX363 sensor coupled with a 2-megapixel depth sensor. For selfies, the Redmi 8 series packs an AI-driven 8-megapixel camera.

The Redmi 8A comes with a 6.22 inch HD+ IPS LCD display which screen resolution of 720 x 1520  pixels, 19:9 aspect ratio, and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Under the hood, it is powered by Snapdragon 439 chipset coupled with 2GB/3GB and 32GB internal storage. Just like the Redmi 8, it is also equipped with a 5000mAh battery with 18-watt fast charging support.

Talking about cameras, the rear camera includes a single 12MP Sony IMX363 sensor with f/1.8 aperture & 1.4-micron pixel size. The rear camera on the phone also supports digital zoom, auto flash, face detection and touch to focus.  The smartphone has an 8-megapixel selfie camera at the front.
