Today at IFA 2017, LG Electronics (LG) has officially announced its latest flagship smartphone; LG V30. LG V30 is the successor to the last year’s LG V20 and the third addition to V-series flagship smartphones. The LG V30 design is quite similar to the LG G6, carrying a metal and premium glass design and has that potential to stand out from the rest of the pack. Now the V30 comes with much bigger display 6.0-inch OLED FullVision Display and offers maximum multimedia features like Cine Video mode and advanced Hi-Fi Quad DAC.
Let’s talk about the specs first, V30 comes with a 6-inch QHD+ OLED Full vision display with 18:9 aspect ratio. This time LG has removed the secondary display and replaces it with a floating bar. The back of V30 is smooth glass panel which certainly gives it a premium look and feels to it. The glass back is slightly curved and protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. V30 is powered by Snapdragon 835 chipset coupled with 4GB LPDDR4x RAM and 64GB UFS 2.0 internal storage which is expandable up to 2TB via a microSD card. Also, a 128GB variant is available. LG V30 runs on Android 7.1.2 out of the box. Powering the V30 is a 3,300mAh battery with Quick charge 3.0 and wireless charging support. The home button is fitted on the back of the phone and also has a fingerprint scanner placed on it. For device security, LG has included Knock Code, face recognition, and voice recognition. LG V30 now comes with IP68 certification for dust and water resistant.
Talking about the camera, LG V30 comes with a 16MP+13MP Dual rear camera with f/1.6 and f/1.9 aperture, now users can take more dynamic shots. In the front, there is a 5MP front facing camera with f/2.2 aperture and 90-degree wide angle lens. The camera is included with Laser autofocus, optical image stabilization, and electronic image stabilization.
Other exciting features include 32-bit Advanced Hi-Fi Quad DAC for enhancing the audio experience. Cine mode and Point zoom feature to produce cinematic looking videos which I think is the most welcome addition. This new feature allows users to apply effects to the video giving it a cinematic look. Users can choose from 15 different presets.
Juno Cho, president of LG Electronics Mobile communication said,
“The V series has always been demonstrating new practical mobile technologies that contribute to high quality content creation and the V30 has not lost sight of its roots, with its F1.6 Crystal Clear Lens Camera and Cine Video mode, the LG V30 is designed to help create professional-looking content without professional-level complexity.”
What is LG V30+?
LG V30+ sounds like an upgraded version of V30 but the only difference between V30+ and V30 is the internal storage. LG V30+ model comes with 128 GB of internal storage and will be available in limited markets.
